Rosacea Facial
Rosacea , with its red-faced, acne-like appearance, is a common vascular and inflammatory facial skin condition with symptoms that include:
- Tendency to blush or flush easily
- Persistent facial redness
- Small visible blood vessels
- Bumps and pus-filled pimples on the face (inflammatory papules and pustules)
- Facial discomfort—burning or stinging sensation, tightness, dryness or itch
- Burning, itching, or watery eyes and/or swollen eyelids
People with fair skin over age 40 are more likely to get rosacea, but it can affect people of any age, from any background. Rosacea is an unpredictable skin disorder, so it is critical to use the gentlest skin-care routine possible. -All skin-care products should be fragrance- and dye-free. -Use sunscreen. UV exposure makes rosacea worse, so be sure to apply daily a sunscreen with SPF 25 or higher. -Use a gentle, non-drying, water soluble cleanser (Cetaphil, Cell Fusion C). No soaps or bar cleansers. -It is essential to use light moisturizers formulated with skin repairing ingredients. -Exfoliate your skin twice a week with exfoliant that contains salicylic acid or papaya enzymes to reduce redness and eliminate dry, flakey skin. -See your Esthetician for calming, anti-redness, anti-inflammatory facial. -For the clients with moderate rosacea we advice to see dermatologist.
